With the holiday season here, I am constantly running all over the city. From a work event to a friend’s birthday to the school holiday concert, I’m in and out of Uber cars all day it seems. As I want to look my best at all these fun and festive events, making my hair blowdrys last is an abiding goal. Some of my favorite places to get a blowout are scattered around Manhattan, and I share below my go-to spots that will leave you looking your ab-fab best and ready to rock around the Christmas tree (hopefully with champagne in hand!) Whether you’re in Tribeca, Midtown, or can’t leave your couch because it’s freezing, I got you covered ladies!

Named one of the top 100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010 by Entrepreneur Magazine and New York Magazine’s Boom Brands of 2013, Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on one thing and being the best at it: Blowouts. The idea was a natural one for curly haired founder Alli Webb, a longtime professional stylist, who constantly found herself overpaying for blowouts at traditional salons.
With 65+ locations throughout the US and Canada (and more than 10 in NYC), DryBar also offers a growing product line created specifically to compliment perfect blowout. Find these at the DryBar shops as well as such retailers as Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta and Bloomingdale’s.
My fave DryBar location is 4 West 16th Street. And don’t forget the champs…. Cheers!

A customer blow-out in your own home, chilling in sweats before dressing for your big night out? Sign me up- and you can too. Download the GLAMSQUAD app, sign up, then “look and book” – chose what you want from their “style menu”, pick an appointment, and get back to those unread magazines while you wait for your stylist to arrive.
I suggest you choose from these 3 treatments: “The Midnight Kiss”; “The Slow Dance”; and “The Champagne Pop.” Don’t see what you want? Just show their stylist a picture of your ideal self and they’ll work their magic to create that special Uptown Society, downtown hip, or any in between look you desire.
They are currently running a promo where you receive $25 off your first appointment. Use promo code “WELCOME25”

Time Out New York profiled the Haute Air team by saying “when publicist Gigi Arjomand relocated from Los Angeles to New York, she noticed a dearth in salons that offer affordable blowouts. To rectify the situation, she opened one herself, modeled after the blow-dry bars that have become so popular in California. All-white chandeliers hang from the sky-blue ceiling, and five mod leather salon chairs contrast with the otherwise charming shabby-chic decor.”
Sign me up Gigi!
For a fun outing or “pre-game” warmup, Haute Air will host a private party for you and your girlfriends. Again, sign me up Gigi!

An urban retreat in Soho which offers the best in facials, waxing, massage, nail care- and now hair! I was lucky enough to get a blow dry here and loved it. This Mercer Street oasis was the perfect mix of zen and cool.
As a bonus, they offer three affordable hair treatments, all for $50 or less: The Milbon Linkage Meu Deep Conditioning Treatment ($50); The Protein Deep Conditioning Treatment ($30); and The Scalp Treatment (also $30).

Boasting 63 locations over 3 countries, there are 5 Blo Blow dry bars in Manhattan with one on Long Island. Basically, there is one around the corner from you. As they say on their site, You’re not cheating on your hairdresser. No, seriously. Blo is North America’s original blow dry bar. No cuts, no color: Just wash, blo, go. Guests choose from our signature styles featured in the Blo Hair Menu, from the razor-straight “Executive Sweet” to the runway-inspired “Pillow Talk”.
I love going to Blo because they all do a great job, they are friendly, its quick and easy and yes- there’s alcohol.

Located inside the Loews Regency New York (540 Park Avenue, at 61st Street), Julien and Suelyn Farel created the Power Beauty menu to allow their clients to receive multiple signature services simultaneously in an hour (imagine a blowout/shave, facial and manicure for example).
Catering to busy locals, jet-setters, and your faithful blogger (!), every service here is as luxurious as it is transforming. This amazing salon (my personal sanctuary) is open Monday – Sunday, offering plenty of options for appointments morning, noon, or night. My “go-to’s” for a blow dry are the lovely and talented Elizabeth and Sandrine, but you’ll be pampered and well treated by anyone on the team. And as you’ve all read on my blog before, Kevin is my bestie and hair savior.
- Location: Upper East Side

My East Side girlfriends ALL tell me this is their fave! Yani offers a full range of beauty services including haircuts, styling, Brazilian Keratin, massages, manicures and more. They accept walk-ins and appointments. As a bonus, you’re just a four-minute walk to Emack & Bolio’s for a yummy ice cream treat. You’ve been SO good all year!
