Five Jackets that never go out of style

I am a jacket girl. I almost always have one on, since it really completes an outfit. Once you start to buy a few, you realize there are some that come back season after season. They come at all different price points, even if you buy one of the pricier ones- you can wear it for years so it’s worth the investment. You can mix affordable and more expensive pieces into a core collection that can last for years. Here’s my 5 picks:

The Row Two Button School Boy Jacket

I love this jacket because I can wear it over a dress, with pants or with jeans. It also has a ¾ length sleeve so you can pair it with some great cuffs or bracelets to finish the look. It’s also great in off-white. It’s a staple that you will find available every year.

Equipment Anais Blazer

This great tailored blazer can be worn year round. I frequently wear it when traveling as I find it barely wrinkles. Its at a great price point and often on sale.

Derek Lam Jacket Military Jacket

Derek Lam makes great jackets, period. This one is a particular favorite of mine since it has a bit of an edge and goes with almost any outfit. Check out his current collection for any new jackets of the season. For Fall he has the Natasha Jacket trimmed in Satin (which I bought last year trimmed in Leather). Its perfect for day or night.

Balmain Six Button Double Breasted Wool Blazer
This jacket is THE jacket to own. You need one in your closet. The black is classic and it also comes in Army Green, Navy, White and Pink. It’s the perfect finish for a Spring or Fall outfit when its not too cold. Throw on jeans and some killer heels, grab a clutch and you are set!

IRO Jacket

IRO puts out a wide selection jackets every season. This one is summer weight with mesh at the wrist. You can not go wrong with any IRO jacket and they are pretty easy to find (Intermix, Shop Bop, Department Stores). Intermix is already stocking some great Pre-Fall pieces. These are especially great with jeans when you are going out at night.
